Documentary Wedding Photographers
On your wedding day, everything we have is devoted to your story.
Some wedding photographers in the fine art and editorial styles will manipulate moments and engineer complex poses to make you, and your day, look like what they want it to be. It’s not about you anymore.
We believe that every wedding is completely unique and requires us to approach it thoughtfully, with obsessive attention to detail. We don’t power down our cameras because the best moments are raw and the best poses are the way your bodies naturally find each other. When a grandmother emails us months after the wedding to thank us for capturing their grand-child so beautifully, we know we’ve done our job well.
We are in many ways photojournalists, looking for what’s really happening and capturing it in the moment. But where a photojournalist is trained to vanish into the background and become a ghost, we are never satisfied to leave you unguided or to settle for a mediocre photo.
Like a documentary filmmaker, we want to tell your love story in a stunning, beautiful way.
While you’re getting your hair done, we’ll find the best light in the bridal suite and rearrange all the furniture to prepare that spot for you. When we photograph your details, we find materials that complement the palette of your day. When it’s time for portraits, we will have already found the most amazing locations and the best light at the wedding venue for you.
Oh, and posing? When it comes to posing, we don’t twist and manipulate you like puppets. We have spent years learning the human form and how to craft light and think through technical composition to highlight your favorite features. But that’s all happening behind the lens. What about you in front of it?
As a husband and wife team, our greatest gift to you is to offer you moments rather than poses.
The distractions of the day fade away and you can re-focus on what matters most: Each other. When you get your photos back, you will be blown away by the energy and beauty of you captured in real moments.
Your only job on your wedding day is to get married and rejoice in that new reality.

Our Story
We grew up 649 miles apart and met working at a coffee shop in college. We became best friends and fell in love all at the same time. We loved working together, and over time we found our life’s passion together in impacting and strengthening marriages.
Your wedding day is emotional and even your best-laid plans can get derailed, but don't let those things distract you from what's really important: you two, and the commitment you're making.
